Fans of the Osomatsu-san TV anime will remember the 11th episode of the series, “Christmas Osomatsu-san,” where the guys and their friend Totoko dressed up in Santa suits. Now this amusing scene has been recreated in screen cleaner form as part of the Jiko Sekinin Stationery Series. The set is a strictly limited edition of 2010. Why 2010? Because the guys are NEETS which is spelt “neeto” in Japanese where “ni” means 2 and “tou” means 10. The 6,250 yen retail price is also an amusing pun on the Japanese for sextuplets, “6tsugo,” with “tsu” meaning two and “go” meaning five.
The characters each come in their familiar color schemes: red for Osomatsu, blue for Karamatsu, green for Choromatsu, purple for Ichimatsu, yellow for Jyushimatsu, and pink for Todomatsu. The screen cleaners have embroidered faces and fuzzy Santa suits using boa material so they’re great to hold in the hand. The guys have also come bearing presents just like the famous scene from the show and are accompanied by their friend Totoko in a pale pink Santa suit so you can recreate the part where each of the guys tries to ask her out.
The cute and round mascot butts also double as screen cleaners you can use to wipe your PC or smartphone screens, or to sit them on your desk to keep you company. They come with a ball chain too so you can clip them to your bag and carry them around with you all day long.
The mascots are adorable enough on their own, but they also come in a special luxury Christmas tree-themed box so they’d make a great present for the Osomatsu-san fan in your life this holiday season!
