■ About the Schedule Books
These B6-sized 2017 schedule books are based on the clothes of 18 Touken Danshi appearing in the popular PC browser and smartphone game Touken Ranbu -Online-. In addition to the lineup of 10 featured in 2016 including Mikazuki Munechika, Kogitsunemaru, Ichigo Hitofuri, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Kashuu Kiyomitsu, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Ookurikara, Heshikiri Hasebe, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga, 2017 will include Juzumaru Tsunetsugu, Nikkari Aoe, Uguisumaru, Hotarumaru, Kasen Kanesada, Higekiri, Hizamaru, and Taroutachi.
Sun-Star Stationery will print original designs on the PVC covers based on the clothes worn by each of the Touken Danshi, and gold leaf will be featured in the designs. All 18 use a monthly design (January 2017 to March 2018). The schedule pages have a simple design with lots of space, allowing you to write without hindrance. Also included are to-do lists, a mini calendar for the following month, and a variety of other touches. The design featured on the cover of each version is also applied to the month pages and memo pages.
Three styles of memo pages are used including lined, blocks, and plain for a highly functional and high-volume book of 96 pages. Also included is a Touken Memo page that will delight anyone playing the game. Data about the Touken Danshi is compiled, allowing fans to enjoy playing Touken Ranbu -Online- that much more.
Samples of these will be on display at the Sun-Star Stationery booth at the largest character and hobby event in Japan, C3 Tokyo 2016, taking place on Aug. 27 and 28 at Makuhari Messe.

■ About Touken Ranbu -Online-
This PC browser and smartphone game was developed by DMM Games and Nitroplus. The player takes on the role of a “Saniwa,” or sage, and gathers famous swords which have been turned into soldiers known as Touken Danshi. The player then forms their team (known as Haku Jintai), trains them, and battles against enemies. These characters have gained popularity for a number of reasons including the actual history and stories behind these swords.
Immediately following the service opening in January 2015, the game exploded in popularity and within a week the servers were at their capacity. The number of players has continued to grow since their expansion, and fans have since started visiting museums about Japanese swords and purchasing books about them, extending the reach of this game into the real world.
A smartphone app for iOS and Android known as Touken Ranbu -Online- Pocket was also released in March 2016 which is capable of communicating with the PC browser version.
