Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary, and Bandai’s official online store, Premium Bandai, is about to launch its own tribute with an addition to its collection of high quality figures aimed at female collectors - the G.E.M. Series. The “G.E.M. Series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Lelouch R2 Zero 10th Anniversary” figure is available for pre-order from Aug. 26 at 4 pm.
October 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the TV broadcast of the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion TV anime. The “G.E.M. Series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Lelouch R2 Zero” figure was first released in April 2009 but is now being re-issued as a special commemorative edition with an extra interchangeable face.
The original version came with a “Zero” face for the show’s protagonist, Lelouch, but this time the set adds a new “Suzaku” version.
Using the “Geass” ability to manipulate special powers, Zero (Lelouch) disguises his own identity to become a terrorist and set up the Black Knights private military force in resistance to the Holy Britannian Empire which his own father rules over. The 25-centimeter figure features Lelouch as Zero, wearing his mask and dressed in his long black cape.
At the end of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, Suzaku decides to live as Zero in place of Lelouch and appears at the execution of the Black Knights. In this version of the figure you can now recreate that final scene by attaching Suzaku’s face to Zero’s body.

■ About the G.E.M. Series
Launched in 2009, the G.E.M Series is a collection of 1/8th scale figures of popular characters from anime and manga aimed at female collectors. “G.E.M” has two meanings - the first being “gem” as the figures become much sought-after pieces of treasure, and the other derives from “Girl’s Excellent Model” which reflects the range’s female focus and high quality approach.

*Code Geass* is a TV anime series first broadcast from October 2006 to March 2007. Lelouch is a young man of the Holy Britannian Empire who fights against the superstate which has occupied Japan by making use of “Geass” powers. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 is the sequel to the original series which aired from April to September 2008 and was later followed by the movie Code Geass: Akito the Exile in 2012. 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the original television broadcast.
