Yuzumari has been designed as a part of Alt Plus Inc.’s project ShuShu which has artists reimagine sake (Japanese rice wine) as characters! She represents Junmai Daiginjou Musashino of Saitama Prefecture.
■ About the Sake Character Project ShuShu
This project was started by Alt Plus as a way of expanding sake culture. Illustrators and mangaka are being recruited to transform the most historic and legendary sake into characters, bringing their background, flavors, and charm to life. These characters then become a handy way for sake brewers to promote their creations.
■ About Yuzumari
Yuzumari is based on Saitama Prefecture’s most popular sake, Junmai Daiginjou Musashino, and was revealed on the official site Nippon Sake Monogatari.
The character design was done by the popular Sanbasou, known for a variety of work including his character designs and illustrations from Alderamin on the Sky.

■ Taking Applications for Brewers and Artists Who Would Like to Participate in the Project
This project will continue to design more and more sake-themed characters for breweries. These characters will then be used on the labels and them hopefully increase sales.
