The New Ginger Museum, operated by Iwashita, will be running a special Pink Umi (Pink Sea) event for a limited time only over the summer from July 23 to Sept. 11.
As well as “The Pink no Umi no Nakamatachi - New Ginger Aquarium” (Pink Sea Friends - New Ginger Aquarium) attraction, the museum will also feature pink-themed decor and a pink sea ball pool in the Alpaca Square which has proved popular with children. The winning dish from the “Iwashita no Shinshoga Sappari & Healthy Recipe Contest” (Iwashita New Ginger Refreshing & Healthy Recipe Contest) will also be on offer in Cafe New Ginger while the event is running.
The Iwashita New Ginger Museum has been registered as a “Cool Share Spot” as part of Tochigi’s 2016 Cool Share Tochigi project. Whilst enjoying the coolness of the free-to-enter New Ginger Museum, you’ll also be able to get a little of that seaside feeling even in landlocked Tochigi regardless of the weather outside.
Pink no Umi no Nakamatachi - New Ginger Aquarium - Limited Time Attraction
The “Pink no Umi no Nakamatachi - New Ginger Aquarium” attraction is a hands on event in which visitors will be able to paint fish in their own colors and see them projected onto the “fish tank” video. Anyone can have a go - children and adults alike are free to participate in the event.

All the fish which have been colored in so far will swim freely on the “fish tank” of the New Ginger Aquarium

Pink Sea in Alpaca Square?!
Adults and kids alike can enjoy the pink sea-themed ball pool which will be set up in Alpaca Square. You can float freely along with the Iwashita New Ginger Alpaca in the sea of 11,000 pink balls.

Contest-winning Recipe to Be Offered at Cafe New Ginger
The “Iwashita no Shinshoga Sappari & Healthy Recipe Contest” was held from June 1-30 and the winning dish, Shinshoga Tom Yum Goong, will be available at Cafe New Ginger during the event. The surprisingly piquant soup is just the right mix of sour and spicy which is perfect for the summer heat.
