Godzilla Invades Fukuoka Tower! 118.5m Godzilla Takes in 3rd Floor Observation Deck

Marking the release of the latest Godzilla movie, Godzilla Resurgence, a large scale artwork installation is due to be displayed on the third floor observation deck of Fukuoka Tower. The installation is roughly the same size as Godzilla as seen in the new movie at around 118m long (the biggest so far in the history of the franchise) and features the looming face of an approaching Godzilla peeking in through the window. This is the very first sighting of Godzilla’s latest incarnation anywhere in Japan.

Fukuoka Tower
Fukuoka Tower was built in 1989 in conjunction with the Asian-Pacific Expo (Yokatopia) which commemorated the 100th anniversary of the city’s foundation. The seaside tower is Japan’s tallest at 234m and is covered in 8,000 mirrors across its triangular structure earning it the nickname “Mirror Sail”. The top floor observation deck which stands at 123m above ground level offers an exceptional view in which you can take in a 360 degree panorama of Fukuoka’s urban center and Waterfront.
