Electronic book store BookWalker has enjoyed record-breaking sales this year, and now they’ve announced their top 10 bestselling titles for the first half of 2016.
Of the 290,000 ebooks sold between Dec. 16, 2015 and June 15, 2016 the top spot was taken by light novel KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!. After the anime adaptation began airing in January, the series became a big hit thanks to its unique characters. The second season is also on its way, so KonoSuba evidently has even more success to come.
Chihayafuru came in second, with Boku Dake ga Inai Machi ( Erased ) in third place - both have recently been adapted into live-action movies. There are 51 light novels in BookWalker’s top 100 plus 45 manga making up 90% of total sales as you would expect from this specialist ebook store.
Alongside the overall bestseller list, BookWalker has also listed the top 20 in 10 different categories including literature, comics, and non-fiction books. They’ve also listed the light novels and comics aimed at men and women respectively.
