Tabemasu? Hmm, sounds tasty
Tabemasu is Bandai’s range of character-themed traditional Japanese sweets and takes its name both from the Japanese verb for “to eat” and a contraction of “Taberareru Mascot” which means “edible mascot.”
First red bean paste, sugar, and flour, and other ingredients are blended together into a shaped dough to make a “nerikiri” and then all the character’s special features are expressed. Not only do they taste delicious, but they have an intricately detailed beauty and are so cute that they’re almost too cute to eat! Up to now the series has also featured Youkai Watch, Rilakkuma, and Doraemon which have all proved a big hit thanks to their adorable designs.
Tabemasu One Piece Chopper
There are two versions in the series - “Tabemasu One Piece Chopper” and “Tabemasu One Piece Chopper Eiga Kinen Color Ver.” Like the name suggests, the 40-millimeter nerikiri takes the form of a mascot-like cute little Chopper sitting down and looking up at an angle. The inner red bean paste has a chocolate flavour and the subtle taste you only get with traditional Japanese sweets.
The “Tabemasu One Piece Chopper” which will be on sale at 7-Eleven stores in Koshinetsu, in Western Japan, will a have an intricate design with a cross on its light blue hat, and a backpack on his back.
The “Tabemasu One Piece Chopper Eiga Kinen Color Ver.” has a special color scheme celebrating the new movie One Piece Film: Gold, which is set for release in Japan on July 23. With his white hat and pretty light blue bow around his neck, this Chopper is very stylishly attired indeed.
