The ebook store BookWalker Co., Ltd. (HQ: Chiyoda, Tokyo; CEO: Yoichi Yasumoto) is expanding overseas! As part of that project, they will also be present at Anime Expo 2016 to held at the Los Angeles Convention Center between July 1–4.
BookWalker’s Overseas Expansion and Joining Anime Expo 2016
BookWalker has been sparing no effort to spread Japanese content to as many overseas fans as possible. One of those instances was the opening of their global store, which mainly offers English translations, in October 2015. They were also present at the New York Comic Con 2015 in the same month, and they had a tie-in with the anime club of the University of British Columbia in Canada as well.
Anime Expo is the largest anime and manga convention in North America with more than 90,000 attendees last year. This year, BookWalker invited some Japanese artists and creators to help convey the charm of Japanese content through the medium called ebooks. They will take the podium during a discussion panel to answer questions and sign autographs.

*Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls* is a manga so popular in North America that it won the first place of The New York Times’ Manga Bestsellers, overtaking even One-Punch Man and Tokyo Ghoul.
BookWalker offers both Japanese and English versions of the manga, the latter made available from June 1. BookWalker will also be present along with Okayado at Anime Expo 2016 with a panel which will include talking, Q&A, and signing autographs.
Regarding his participation in this year’s Anime Expo, Okayado had the following to say: “I’m absolutely honored to able to participate in Anime Expo… Is this even real? Are you sure you got the right person? Is everything okay? In any case, I’ll do my best, so see you at the Expo!”
BookWalker will continue its overseas expansion with full speed and deliver all kinds of interesting Japanese content in the form of ebooks to the anime and manga fans of the world.
**Okayado’s Profile**
Okayado entered the manga industry after contributing the full-color comic Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls to Vol. 2 of the comic anthology Kemomo in 2011. Monster Musume started serialization in Comic Ryu from May 2012 and created a huge sensation upon the release of its first volume in September 2012, as it sold so well they called for reprints on the morning of its release. It is still ongoing in the same magazine. He also has another manga titled *12 Beast published by Kadokawa.
