“Harmony” Theatrical Teaser Revealed; Exhibit Event Planned for Akihabara

The second Noitamina movie project being created by Fuji TV is a colossal one that is adapting three novels by late sci-fi novelist Keikaku Itoh aka Project Itoh into theatrical anime. The second movie in the project is Harmony, which will be released in Japan on Nov. 13. With the release around the corner, a trailer and new cuts from the movie have been revealed. Things are also heating up for a planned exhibit event.

Harmony is a novel by Keikaku Itoh published in 2008. Itoh passed away the following year in 2009. The series has gained great acclaim posthumously both within Japan and abroad, winning such awards as the 40th Seiun Award, the 30th Nihon SF Taisho, and the Philip K. Dick Award overseas. Harmony is one of three completed works by Project Itoh. Jointly directing the movie adaptation are Takashi Nakamura, director of Fantastic Children and chief animation director of Akira, and Michael Arias of Tekkonkinkreet fame. Producing the anime is Studio4°C.

As of Oct. 23, the newly released trailer can be seen on the official site and in Japanese theaters. The new cuts focus on main characters Tuan Kirie and Miach Mihie. The contrasting white, red, and pink are impressive, and the cuts will have viewers curious about what kind of world the movie will have.

An exhibit event is also in the works. The “Project Itoh Exhibition” will be held in the Tokyo Anime Center in Akihabara from Nov. 10. On display will be key art and production materials for Harmony, of course, The Empire of Corpses, and Genocidal Organ. A gigantic illustrated panel by original character designer redjuice will also be on display. The exhibit will run until Nov. 23 and admission is free, making it one fans can carefreely enjoy.
