The art exhibit “Ace of Diamond Art Exhibit - Manga x Anime Dream Matchup” has been announced. It will be held from Nov. 5–10 in the eighth floor event hall of the Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro. Wonderful content awaits attendees which adds production material from the anime to the items on display at the previously held “Ace of Diamond Art Exhibit” that proved popular at this year’s Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair.
The anime Ace of Diamond is based on a manga by Yuji Terajima currently serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. It began serialization in 2006. It was also adapted into a TV anime in 2013, the second season of which is currently broadcasting. The upcoming “Ace of Diamond Art Exhibit - Manga x Anime Dream Matchup” will feature a lineup of display items from both the original manga and anime. First up, the manga area will take a look back at the story from the point of view of main character Eijun Sawamura. Over 100 items are planned to be on display in this area including the cover illustrations of every tankobon volume that are packed with Terajima’s thoughts and passion, the latest color illustrations, and more.
The anime production area will have on display production material and scenes from the anime. Attendees will be able to enjoy seeing how the original manga breathed life into the anime. It will be a monumental opportunity to gander at production material you normally can’t see. A variety of items will also be on sale inside the exhibit including commemorative products.
Those who purchase an advance ticket that comes with limited edition bonuses will receive a ticket holder and scarf towel when they visit the exhibit. The ticket holder features a foil print of the logo of Seido High School, the story’s setting, and the scarf features a specially drawn deformed illustration. Both items are great mementos.
Advance tickets are on sale now at participating Animate stores, on the Animate Online Shop, and at Lawson Ticket. Regular advance tickets cost 1,000 yen and advance tickets that come with the bonus items cost 3,000 yen (both prices include tax). Tickets purchased at the door are both 300 yen more expensive.
