A collaboration cafe between Sanrio’s character project Show By Rock!! and The Guest Cafe & Diner in Shibuya Parco is now open. The cafe features, of course, an original menu, and limited merchandise is also being sold. There will also be plans that incorporate a game app, making the cafe likely to be an event fans won’t be able to miss.
Show By Rock!! is a game app for smartphones. A TV anime was also broadcast in January of this year. The series is a character project themed after bands created by Sanrio, with currently 20 bands in the series’ lineup. The band Shingan Crimsonz ranked second on the 2015 Sanrio Character Ranking, and each of the five bands on the ranking ranked within the top 20.
The cafe’s main focus is on Shingan Crimsonz, and there are menu items for the top bands from the anime including Plasmagica, Tsurezurenaru Ayatsuri Mugenan, Trichronika, and Cristicrista. A menu of items you can only get at this kind of collaboration cafe is on offer from the anime. This includes a curry dish and shaved ice that comes in a mug. Customers who purchase from the original menu will receive a luncheon mat.
There are also original drinks including a latte and strawberry smoothie that come with an original pick. One of eight coasters are given out at random with each drink order.
Limited merchandise on sale at the cafe includes a tote bag with exclusive character artwork, clear files, postcards, and more. iPhone cases and “Coriente’s Super Delicious Water” are also on sale at the cafe in advance.
As a game, anime, and character series, things are heating up for Show By Rock!!. Keep your eyes glued to further developments.
