The “2016 Series” of the popular female card game Data Carddass Aikatsu! will begin this October. The stage is set for Akari Ozora and the rest of the main girls to depart on their countrywide “Aikatsu! Japan Tour.” They will be all over the map in Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, offering chances to meet a variety of idols. Players will also be able to enjoy these characters in the game too.
A highlight of this new series will be meeting idols, and the series is now joining forces with a huge idol: Hatsune Miku, the virtual singer known throughout the world.
In addition to appearing in the game, Hatsune Miku will also sing for the series. We’ve also been told that there is a special project in store too. This will likely be something that no Aikatsu!, Hatsune Miku, or Vocaloid fan should miss.
Kanna Hashimoto will continue in her role as a special collaboration partner who cheers on the series. Hashimoto is an idol popular in a variety of scenes. With in-game idols, virtual idols, and even real idols, Aikatsu! is expanding more rapidly than ever. Hashimoto will also appear in Aikatsu! as an idol from Fukuoka. She also helped by performing in the commercial and more.
Data Carddass Aikatsu! is a digital card game themed around music and targeted toward kids that was launched in 2012. It has been highly popular ever since, at first attracting mainly female elementary school students, but later widening in popularity to include middle school students and their parents. There are over 3,000 Data Carddass Aikatsu! arcade machines throughout Japan, and approximately 200 million cards have been sold in the series. With over 2.7 million official fan books sold as well, the series’ popularity continues to spread.
