A genuine wedding tiara themed after Sailor Moon will be released in March. The design of the tiara was handled by the world’s first tiara designer, Taro Kamitani. The price is 370,000 yen (plus tax). Though a great number of merchandise has been made thus far for the Sailor Moon series, this tiara is by far the most expensive. The traditional details of the tiara were created one at a time by artisans. It will likely draw massive attention.
The “Sailor Moon Serenity Crystal Wedding Tiara” is themed after the tiara worn by the future Sailor Moon, Neo-Queen Serenity. In keeping with the design of the tiara that children admired when watching the show, the elegant design of the wedding tiara features even more minute details. The tiara is embedded all over with pearls from Swarovski, a company that sells crystal products. This elegantly decorated tiara is an accessory fit for a wedding or as a present.
Pre-orders will begin in March on Bandai’s official shopping site, Premium Bandai, and other sites. The tiara costs 370,000 yen (plus tax, shipping and handling separate). A special website has also opened, and on it you can see details about the tiara.
With the 20th anniversary of the Sailor Moon series underway, items themed after the series have been released including pressed powder themed after the Transformation Brooch. It seems likely that this high-price tiara will too gain huge popularity.
The newest installment in the series, Sailor Moon Crystal, began being distributed on Niconico Douga in July 2014. With the confirmation that it will be coming to TV stations this April as well, excitement for the series is building.
