Production of the second part of the stage play Hamatora: The Stage - Crossing Time performed in summer 2014 has been confirmed. Performances are scheduled for March 14-22 at the Seiryo Kaikan Hall. There will be 10 performances total. Details on the as of yet undisclosed title, director, and story will be revealed in a follow-up report.
Once again in charge of this new Hamatora stage play is Eigeki, a company that has successfully adapted such anime to the stage as Gode Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Stage Play, Lucky Star: On Stage, and others. Fans will be able to enjoy the world of the series on stage once more.
Also, the DVD to the previous Hamatora stage play will release on Feb. 27. This will, of course, feature video extras including a making-of segment and after-talk, and is priced at 6,800 yen (tax not included).
Hamatora is a mixed media series primarily developed as a TV anime and manga. Set in Yokohama in the year 2014, the detective combo Hamatora solve cases involving people with superpowers called Minimum. It has gained popularity as a battle drama. The first season of the TV anime broadcast from January to April 2014, and the second season broadcast from July to September. The anime was preceded by a manga that was serialized in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) beginning in November 2013. The stage play Hamatora: The Stage - Crossing Time had its premiere performance in August 2014 at Haiyu-za Gekijo. The play grabbed headlines for its perfect portrayal of the characters, from their clothing to their makeup. It seems that Part 2 of the stage play will as well be one fans won’t want to miss.
Performance Dates: Saturday, March 14 to Sunday, March 22. Ten performances total (no performances on the 16 and 17)
