The large-scale event that brings together characters and hobby under one roof, Chara Hobby C3×Hobby, will be held on Aug. 23 and 24 at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex. With a variety of stage events, tons of industry booths, and information and sales of new products, this is an event that is popular every year.
For this year as well, stage events are planned for popular anime including Gundam Build Fighters Try, Yūki Yūna wa Yūsha de Aru, Log Horizon, and M3 the Dark Metal. Popular voice stars and staff members will take the stage for these events. Also, Dengeki Hobby Japan, a joint publication between the two huge hobby magazines Dengeki Hobby Magazine and Monthly Hobby Japan, will be sold. The magazine will sell for 3,000 yen (tax included) and includes HG weapons and specially colored joint parts for the HGCE Strike Gundam and the HGBC Build Fighter.
A likely highlight of the event will be Kantai Collection - KanColle. KanColle will be largely pushed through projects created by the organizers. A KanColle Chara Hobby Base will be setup at the event, the fleet girls who will be appearing in the anime will be announced, and there will be life-size cutouts, illustrations, merchandise, and publications on display. The huge collection of Water Line series fleet models and the fleet girl illustration gallery will likely draw crowds.
In the kids and family area, there will be character shows for HappinessCharge PreCure! and Kamen Rider Gaim. This area will also have illustration workshops, mini 4WD racing events, and Youkai Watch gachapon. Children will definitely fully enjoy it.
The Hobby Academy will bring together a wide range of hands-on events that includes the “CharaGumin Class,” the “Blockers Hands-on Corner,” the “Mini 4WD Construction Class,” a “Modeling Lecture for Pro Modelers,” the “Create with Master Kawaguchi Offline Meetup,” a class on cosplay photography techniques, and more. Advance adult tickets for Chara Hobby C3×Hobby cost 1,300 yen and tickets at the door cost 1,500 yen (tax included). Children elementary school age and younger get in free.
