Hana to Yume (Hakusensha), a shoujo manga magazine celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, will reach its 1,000th consecutive issue with the release of Issue 19 on Friday, Sept. 5. In celebration of this, the event “Hana to Yume Anime Festival” will be held at the Shinagawa Intercity Hall on Sunday, Sept. 28. The festival will showcase works serialized in Hana to Yume that are getting anime adaptations. Three stage events for these anime each featuring a cast of voice stars will be held.
The first, an event for The World is Still Beautiful, will take place at 11:10. Guests include Rena Maeda (Nike), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Livius), and Tomokazu Sugita (Neil). Fans will be able to enjoy a talk show, of course, along with a live performance by Maeda who worked on the ending theme and background music.
Continuing from this, a stage event for Akatsuki no Yona will be held at 13:20. Appearing at this event will be Chiwa Saito (Yona) and Tomoaki Maeno (Hak). There will be also a screening of the first two episodes.
The third stage event is for Kamisama Kiss and it will be held at 16:20. Performers for this event include Suzuko Mimori (Nanami Momozono) and Shinnosuke Tachibana (Tomoe). The event will have not-to-be-missed content including new information and announcements. Pre-orders for Blu-ray and DVD box sets of Season 1 of the anime will also be taken, and those who pre-order it will receive an advance invitation to a press conference to be held in December.
Only those who fill out the attendance form included in Issues 17, 18, and 19 of Hana to Yumeand the October issue of Bessatsu Hana to Yume and are chosen will be able to attend the stage events. Each event is limited to 500 people, and only 1,500 people total will be able to attend.
In addition to the above-mentioned stage events, there will be special exhibits and goods for sale at Hana to Yume Anime Festival. It seems fans can look forward to this grand event that celebrates the magazine’s 40th anniversary and 1,000th consecutive issue.
