Hanayamata and Eizan Electric Railway Collaborate, Trains with Special Headsigns Begin Service on July 10

Various collaborations are in development between the Kyoto railway company Eizan Electric Railway and Manga Time Kirara (Houbunsha). They are projects gaining huge popularity among fans. Now, a new summer work has been introduced to the lineup. In celebration of the TV anime adaptation of Hanayamata, which is currently serializing in Manga Time Kirara Forward, trains with special headsigns went into operation on July 10.

These headsigns are being implemented on two trains: numbers 722 and 724 of the 700 series. Different headsigns are installed on both the front and back of these trains for a total of four illustrations to enjoy. The lovely designs feature drawings of the main characters beginning with Naru Sekiya.

Joining with this, a new collaboration logo has been created by Eizan Electric Railway. The logo reproduces the details of the Hanayamata logo and hidden letters that read “hanayamata” can be seen within the Eizan Electric Railway lettering. Also written on the logo is the catch copy “Kyoto × Rakuhoku × Train Story” which is a parody of the anime’s catch copy, “Adolescence × Yosakoi × Girls Story.” This unique collaboration is fully loaded with playfulness. Even more collaboration projects to be held are in development. Make sure not to miss the follow-up report.

Eizan Electric Railway is a railway company that operates two lines in the Northeast part of Kyoto referred to as Rakuhoku. The collaboration with Manga Time Kirara came about due to the company’s representative train being its viewing train named “Kirara.” To date, the company has collaborated with many popular works including K-On!, Hidamari Sketch, and Kiniro Mosaic.
