Sword Art Online II will begin broadcasting on July 5. Now, gathering attention from fans worldwide is the decision to hold advance screenings of Episode 1 of the anime, first in Japan on June 29 and then in the U.S., France, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea on July 4 (local time).
These screenings are a chance to see Episode 1 before it airs on TV. Screenings will be held in Germany in 21 cities including Cologne, Nuremberg, and Berlin.
Also to be screened at the event are the episodes that won the Episode Award at the Sword Art Online Awards 2014 1. These include three popular episodes of the previous SAO series chosen by fans. Also, wrapped buses called “SAO World Advertisements” will appear in each of the countries holding the advance screenings.
^1^ An awards ceremony established with the goal of expanding the TV anime Sword Art Online. The awards are organized into 12 categories including Photography Award and Actor Award, and award winners for each category were decided by fans who voted on characters and episodes of the anime. It was held this year from May 21 to June 19.
