On April 23, Capcom rolled out the large-scale update GG for its popular game Monster Hunter Frontier G. In addition to the 12th weapon class, Tonfa, “20 huge events and campaigns” will also be enacted. Among these are collaboration projects with Attack on Titan, Infinite Stratos, Thermae Romae, and others. Anime and manga fans won’t be able to overlook these.
In the Attack on Titan event, players will be able to use the “Survey Corps Series” protective equipment. Those who participate will be entered to win prizes including Attack on Titan Blu-ray box sets and volumes of the original manga up to Volume 13. Also, those who purchase the Infinite Stratos collaboration kit will be entered to win goods signed by Izuru Yumizuru. The deadline for each is May 14.
The Thermae Romae campaign commemorates the release of the movie Thermae Romae II. A quest code has been released that lets players undergo a quest to obtain materials to make the special weapon “Thermae Oligo” (long sword). This can also be strengthened to create the shining gold G-class weapon “Thermae Romae G.” The deadline for this is July 30.
To commemorate the Tonfa weapon class, the “Hunt Original G-Class Monsters Special!” will be held on Nico Nico Live. Depending on the number of G-class monsters hunted, Tonfa weapons and 17 special “Monster Hunter Frontier GG Premium Packages” will be given out to viewers chosen by lottery. Wonderful special items that can be used right away in the game have also been prepared for all viewers, so take note. The broadcast will begin at 19:00 on May 2 (JST), and performers include Kazami Doguma, FB777 (M.S.S. Project), Kikkun-Mk-II (M.S.S. Project), Aromahot (M.S.S. Project), Eoheoh (M.S.S. Project), Shiki Aoki (Mao), and Gatchman.
