A jigsaw puzzle for fans to enjoy the world of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo through has been announced. The original jigsaw puzzle “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo Gallant Asuka (Takeshi Honda)” will release in the Evangelion Store on April 18. It will be sold on the online Evangelion Store and at Evangelion Store Tokyo-01 in Harajuku. It will also be available to purchase at jigsaw puzzle specialty shops throughout Japan.
The original jigsaw puzzles based on the Rebuild of Evangelion series are popular items that have released consecutively at the Eva Store. Released so far have been “Plugsuit Rei Ayanami,” “Test Plugsuit Asuka,” “Plugsuit Mari,” “Up on the Rooftop…,” and “Shinji & Kaworu.”
Honda’s illustrations can be seen in Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance - Pilots. Here, he has depicted an eyepatch-wearing Asuka in a cool stance holding the Lance of Cassius. This visual was also used on the front cover of a 2011 issue of Monthly Newtype, so there are likely many people who remember seeing it.
When fully assembled, the puzzle is the size of a B3 poster (approximately 38 x 53 cm). The print features highly detailed, beautiful coloring, and fans can also enjoy decorating their interior with it. Of course, it’s also a standard jigsaw puzzle. It was manufactured in Japan by Yanoman, a top manufacturer of jigsaw puzzles. The number of pieces make the puzzle enjoyable for even beginners. However, at 500 pieces, it still isn’t a walk in the park. Fans will be able to enjoy the visual even more once the puzzle is complete. The price of the puzzle is ¥2,160 including tax.
