Decorator EP, the new album from Livetune, the tremendously popular artist who was brought to life by the Internet, will be released on March 5. The jacket––supervised by Fantasista Utamaro, a creator in focus, and drawn by illustrator Mebae––has already been released together with a teaser video made in collaboration with Wakamura P and Sega.
In addition, on the same very day, a collaboration single with Yuuki Ozaki from the band Galileo Galilei, the group behind the opening theme for the TV anime Hamatora will be released under the title “Flat.” Another track on the single will be the theme song to the TV anime Magica Wars to begin in April which is a collaboration with Anna Yano.
Livetune feat. Hatsune Miku, the long-awaited new song!
Livetune (kz) has gathered attention with his original music he released on the Internet. He made his debut with Re:package in 2008, which debuted at No. 5 on the Oricon chart and had a high ranking of No. 2 on the daily chart. He has gathered massive support due to his wide-ranged composing style that crosses many genres––such as club music, pop, and anime songs––his ground-shaking performance style, and his activities overseas.
Similarly to his previous compilation album released in March 2013 titled Re:Dial, Livetune will also release his new album, Decorator EP, under the name “Livetune feat. Hatsune Miku.”
Besides the new songs, such as “Decorator,” which was specifically written as the theme song for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd, a PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 game by Sega scheduled to release in March, the album also contains already released songs, such as “Pink or Black,” the tie-up song for the animation 6HP Pink or Black, which became a popular as part of the Shu Uemura × Takashi Murakami collaboration.
Seven songs in total will be featured on the album. This includes “Decorator (TeddyLoid remix)”made by TeddyLoid, who produced songs for the TV anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt among others.
A jacket by Mebae and a video by Wakamura P × Sega, too!
The jacket, similarly to Tell Your World EP and Re:Dial, was made by Mebae, an illustrator from Kaikai Kiki (a group led by Takashi Murakami), under the supervision of the spirited illustrator, animator, and artist Fantasista Utamaro.
In addition, the DVD attached to the first press limited edition will feature a video clip of “Decorator” made in collaboration by Sega and Wakamura P, the maker of numerous Hatsune Miku music videos, and it will also feature videos from the game. The teaser video for this has already been released.
Hamatora theme song single to release on the same day!
On the release day of Decorator EP, March 5, Livetune will also release “Flat,” a joint single with Yuuki Ozaki from Galileo Galilei. The title track is currently used as the opening theme for the TV anime Hamatora.
Also, Livetune invited the model Anna Yano again for a joint song. The two had previously worked together on “Shape My Story,” the opening theme of the TV anime Stella Women's Academy, High School Division Class C3.
The song will be used as the theme song to Magica Wars, a TV anime to air from April 2014 that is gathering notice as a Gainax production and as part of a multimedia project based on the concept from 2.5 Jigen Terebi (a variety program that distributes otaku information): “gotouchi mahou shoujo” (lit. “magical girls around you”).
