Miss Monochrome will finally make her CD debut on Jan. 29. Accompanying this, an official YouTube channel has been created. There, a promotional video of her first single, “Poker Face,” has been released. It’s about a minute and a half in length and shows a 3D Miss Monochrome. It also shows off magnificent dancing and is a must-see.
Miss Monochrome is an original character created by Yui Horie, a seiyū and singer. She first appeared as a 3D character at the 2012 concert “Yui Horie o Meguru Bōken III - Secret Mission Tour.” After that, she was commercialized as a Playbutton, dakimakura, and other character goods. A comic adaptation has also been decided on, which shows the character’s wide range of development. Last year, an anime adaptation called Miss Monochrome: The Animation was broadcast on TV Tokyo, which also caused a stir. In addition to this, she also appears in the social game Girlfriend (Beta) on the online service Ameba, which is managed by CyberAgent.
Miss Monochrome’s first single includes the theme song to Miss Monochrome: The Animation, “Poker Face,” as well as the song “? (Hatena),” the lyrics to which were created by Yui Horie. The price of the single is ￥1,143 (tax not included), and the first run will include a “Girlfriend (Beta) SR Miss Monochrome/Ru-chan Ver.” serial code and a special sleeve.
Also, the Blu-ray and DVD of Miss Monochrome: The Animation will release on March 26. Fitting the monochrome theme, there will be a White Ver. and Black Ver. Each will cost ￥5,000 on Blu-ray and ￥4,000 on DVD (both prices are excluding tax). The package will include two discs (Blu-ray or DVD and CD), a slipcase, a tall case, and a booklet.
The CD in the White Ver. will include the song “Endless Seventeen” by Kikuko (CV: Kikuko Inoue) as well as seven songs off of the original soundtrack, whereas the CD in the Black Ver. will include the song “Poker Face (TV Size Ver.)” by Miss Monochrome and six songs off of the original soundtrack. A bonus entry ticket will also be included when both of the first-run versions are purchased together.
