The production of a sequel for the immensely popular anime that aired between fall 2012 and March 2013, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, was announced on Oct. 18 by Warner Home Video and other related media. The sequel will follow the third part of the original work, “Stardust Crusaders.” Parts 1 and 2, “Phantom Blood” and “Battle Tendency” respectively, have already been adapted into anime, so it will be in line with the original manga. It is scheduled to air from 2014, but no details regarding broadcast times were revealed.

Regarding the production staff, David Production from Parts 1 and 2, which received favorable reviews, will take on this part as well, and the trusted staff from the previous parts––director Naokatsu Tsuda, series director Kenichi Suzuki, and series composer Yasuko Kobayashi––will return too. Masahiko Komino, who was the animation director in the previous series, was appointed for character design. It will be interesting to see how he draws these unique characters.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a popular manga series drawn by Hirohiko Araki. It has been very popular for many years, but now that tendency is growing even stronger. This is mostly thanks to the first TV anime series, which is receiving good reviews for its direction that has used the charm of the original work to the utmost. Part 3, which is to be adapted into a TV anime in 2014, is an especially popular part within the series. The stage spreads from ‘80s Japan to a more worldwide scene, and the battle of destiny between the Joestar family and DIO continues. The popular Jotaro Kujo will appear in this part too, and a special treat is that this part introduces for the first time the ability called “Stand.”

“Stardust Crusaders” takes place in 1987, 50 years after the life or death battle of Joseph Joestar and his comrades. Joseph visits Japan in order to meet with his grandson, Jotaro Kujo, who says he has been “possessed by an evil spirit.” It turns out it isn’t an evil spirit, but a Stand. the reason for Stands appearing all of a sudden is related to the holy fate that binds DIO, a vampire who has waken up from his long sleep of 100 years, and the Joestar family. In order to save Jotaro’s mother, Holy, who has fallen sick due to the negative influence of DIO, they have to defeat DIO, and so they embark on a journey together.
