As soon as Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo was released to theaters on Nov. 17, 2012, it became a record-breaking big hit. It is filled with highlights, from the high-quality animation to story developments different from that of the series up until now. This movie is the third part of the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, and it lays down mysteries one after the other. Even so, what might have been most interesting in the movie to the fans was the preview for the sequel, Evangelion: Final, because it contains hints at the story. Above all, the pink and red colored Unit-08+02 was very spectacular. What role is it going to play in the next part?
Although the release date for the movie is still unknown, pre-orders for an action figure of Unit-08+02 have already begun. It is a special model of the Revoltech Yamaguchi series by Kaiyodo, a company recognized for its high-quality products. The figure goes by the name “Revoltech Yamaguchi No. EX Evangelion Unit-08+02 Evangelion: 3.0 Preview Ver.” It was created to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the establishment of the official Evangelion shop, Evangelion Store Tokyo-01, in Harajuku set to take place on Nov. 23, and it is the result of a collaboration between Eva Store, Kaiyodo, and Figure King magazine.
What makes the figure most impressive is the two-toned coloring of red and pink and the Magorox held in its hand, making it a faithful reproduction. Evangelion: 3.0 figures in the Revoltech series including Unit-02, Unit-08, and Unit-13 have been continuously released for five months, and this new addition is sure to make the fans happy. The Eva Store in Harajuku is displaying samples now until Oct. 13 of not only the colored version, but the precious monochrome version as well.
The figure costs ¥4480 tax included, and besides the Harajuku Eva Store, it can also be pre-ordered from Eva Store’s online shop, a mail order form in Figure King magazine, and Mono Shop. The figure is planned to be delivered around the end of January 2014.
