On Sept. 19, Tokyo Game Show 2013 commenced at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Japan with the theme “Games: Limitless Evolution.” Plenty of booths are set up featuring various consoles and unreleased content. Game demos are also being locked down by a steady stream of enthusiastic gamers.
The first day was open exclusively for industry visitors only. Even so, areas become congested with people as the day went on. The Sony Computer Entertainment booth was in particularly crowded. Visitors were able to demo launch titles on the new PlayStation 4 console. Also, gamers waited up to 90 minutes in long lines for a chance to play other notable titles. The lines for EA’s Battlefield 4 and the Japanese subtitled Grand Theft Auto 5 (releasing Oct. 10 in Japan) never seemed to cease.
The Tokyo Game Show will be held until Sept. 22. For those sightseeing in Japan, be sure to check it out!
