Enter the Cyber World: Ghost in the Shell: Arise Glasses to Be Sold in Vending Machines at Tokyo Game Show 2013!

Experience the world of Ghost in the Shell: Arise, the popular anime which started airing in June 2013, with these Ghost in the Shell: Arise glasses that will be sold at Tokyo Game Show 2013, from Sept. 19-22 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.

During the event, there will be vending machines around the venue selling the series of glasses called "Jins PC for Hackers" themed after Ghost in the Shell: Arise. The model which will go on sale beginning on Sept. 20 is the latest model in the "Jins PC for Hackers" series and was created with the hopes to garner more fans at Tokyo Game Show 2013, one of the biggest otaku events of the year.

The glasses are a collaboration project with the event itself and can only be purchased at the Tokyo Game Show. At the booths with the vending machines, there will also be a special large-scale display of the mecha Rojikoma from the series.

"Jins PC for Hackers" is a series of premium glasses launched in July of last year geared at engineers, programmers, hardcore gamers, and other similar high-end users. Targeted at this group of network and computer experts driving society forward through technology, known as the "White Hackers," these customized PC glasses have been designed to tailor to their needs. This time, the design will incorporate the perspectives of the cyber world from Ghost in the Shell: Arise.

The hacker-oriented glasses became a hot item in July 2012 when the 1,500 pairs of the first model sold out on the day of its release through the Jins online shop. The new model to be released at Tokyo Game Show will be based on the original. The new lineup comes in two styles, with one color, at 9,990 yen per pair. The glasses are now available for pre-order on the JINS online shop, and will be sold through the online shop as well as some Jins stores around Japan starting Sept. 20.

Ghost in the Shell: Arise has recently garnered much attention for the first part of the series, “Border: 1 Ghost Pain,” that was released in June. The second chapter, “Border: 2 Ghost Whispers," will be out in theaters in Japan starting Nov. 30. We're definitely looking forward to the rest of the series.
