The anime Yowamushi Pedal will begin broadcasting this October on TV Tokyo. There are high expectations for the anime adaptation of the popular sports manga, and it has finally been shown in a promotional video that was released on Aug. 10. This video is now accessible on the anime’s official site.
The promotional video was first screened at Toho Animation’s booth at Comiket 84, which began on Aug. 10. In addition, a “Sōhoku Drama CD Special Pack” was also sold at the booth.
The promotional video starts with the protagonist, Sakamichi Onoda (CV: Daiki Yamashita), and also features other Sōhoku High School members, namely Shunsuke Imaizumi (CV: Kōsuke Toriumi), Shōkichi Naruko (CV: Jun Fukushima), Shingo Kinjō (CV: Hiroki Yasumoto), Yūsuke Makishima (CV: Showtaro Morikubo), and Jin Tadokoro (Kentarō Itō). This anime cut is brimming with liveliness, dynamism, and the long-awaited voices of the Sōhoku characters.
Speaking about character voices, the voice cast for HakoGaku (aka Hakone Gakuen), the rivals of Sōhoku High, were also announced recently. The cast is as follows: Tomoaki Maeno as Juichi Fukutomi, Tsubasa Yonaga as Manami Sangaku, Tetsuya Kakihara as Jinpachi Todo, Satoshi Hino as Hayato Shinkai, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Yasutomo Arakita, and Atsushi Abe as Toichiro Izumida. We can’t wait to hear their voices.
Yowamushi Pedal is based on Wataru Watanabe’s manga of the same name that is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion. The director of the anime is Osamu Nabeshima, with series composition by Reiko Yoshida, character designs by Takahiko Yoshida, and production being handled by TMS Entertainment. After the recently released promotional video, the expectations just got higher as to what will become of this cycle road race anime.
