The Tokyo Crazy Kawaii Implementation Committee has announced the start of localization and event projects to naturally penetrate lifestyles throughout the world with Japan’s kawaii (cute) culture. The project aims to widen the contents of Japan by holding events all over the world at which Japan’s capital, Tokyo, is recreated and thoroughly introduced by focusing on information distribution regarding Japan’s kawaii lifestyle.
The first event of this project will be held in Paris and aptly titled Tokyo Crazy Kawaii Paris (TCKP). France is a place through which Japanese anime and manga has spread and contents of Japan beyond these are sought after. People in France think of Japanese people as being “cute” and “cool,” and this has led many to seek out new Japanese content.
At TCKP, popular areas from all over Tokyo––including Shibuya, Harajuku, Akihabara, and Tsukiji––will be recreated. Due to a mixture of fashion, music, gourmet, manga, anime, games, and characters from each area being included, the event will give attendees the opportunity to experience the many different sides to Tokyo.
So that people from all over Europe can consecutively enjoy these aspects of Japan, the executive committee office in Paris will implement its localization project at the same time the event is going on. A special portion of this project will extend past just this event to create a support system for business development and expansion.
TCKP will be held for three days from Sept. 20-22 (Fri-Sun) at Parc Floral De Paris. Below is an introduction of the participants currently planned for the event.
