The September issue of Nakayoshi, a popular shōjo magazine in Japan, released on Aug. 3 and includes the “Evolved Style Manga Artist Ultimate Set,” a power-up of the last, extremely popular “Manga Artist Set,” as a gift.
The March issue of Nakayoshi, which included the first version of the set, was the center of attention on the net amongst readers and sold out the first day it was released. It also achieved a miraculous figure of a 95% sale rate in the first two weeks.
This time, the “Evolved Manga Artist Ultime Set” has two themes: “You Can Draw Hatsune Miku” and “Pro Instruction on How to Draw Digitally.” The idea is for fans to draw Miku as they watch the video. The pro artist instructing is Shimeko who is known for possessing stellar talent and having drawn the cover art of the Vocaloid compilation album Exit Tunes Presents Vocarhythm feat. Hatsune Miku.
The set includes a variety of goodies including three calligraphy pens themed after Miku’s baby-pink blushing cheeks, vivid emerald green hair, and cherry-hued eyes and lips. Also included are numerous screen tones, an exclusive light blue draft pencil, three tracing sheets, tracing paper, and manga drawing instruction booklet. Everything is included in the issue for the bargain price of only 580 yen. Once again, the set has become hugely popular.
