“Tiger & Bunny: The Rising”: New Information Revealed!

Tiger & Bunny is an anime about heroes of a different type: “Individuals with special abilities called NEXT who protect the peace in town with sponsor logos on their backs.” The anime was a big hit in 2011, and in September 2012, the first film titled Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning was released, which scored a big hit as well. Now, the second film, Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, will be released on Feb. 8, 2014.

The Rising is a completely new piece of work that takes places after the TV show. A new hero, Golden Lion, appears before the eyes of Kotetsu – who moved to the Second League – Barnaby, and the others. The townsfolk are are excited about Justice Day, a festival that celebrates the city’s goddess, but then, something strange happens...the whole city of Sternbild is about to tremble!

The script, just like the series, will be written by Masafumi Nishida, who is also known for working on popular live action drama, and Yoshitomo Yonetani from Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning will take the director’s seat again.

In 2014, a new stage of heroes will unfold, don’t take your eyes off how this film develops!

☆ Second visual unveiled!
After the first visual shown in September of last year, the renewed main visual finally appears! Barnaby Brooks Jr. is wearing a new costume, but standing beside him is not Kotetsu, but an unfamiliar, new hero named Golden Ryan aka Ryan Goldsmith! Why is Wild Tiger turning his back...? This visual suggests the birth of a new combo! The posters and leaflets of this visual began being distributed to movie theaters throughout Japan on July 20.

☆ New characters unmasked!
The new character, Golden Ryan, will be voiced by Yūichi Nakamura! This new movie features some brand new characters, such as Barnaby Brooks Jr.’s new partner, Golden Ryan, and the new owner of Apollon Media, Mark Schneider. Nakamura was chosen for the role of Golden Ryan, who is also seen in the news flash video. All in all, the new heroes’ profiles have been unraveled.

A hero employed by Schneider in order to promote new heroes. Although he is younger than Barnaby, he has experience from his overseas activities and is also a competent hero.
Ability: fixed range gravity amplification (in about a 30-meter radius)

The new owner of Apollon Media. A successful and charismatic businessman, he started an enterprise at a very young age.

☆ Story unraveled!
Although once retired, Wild Tiger aka Kaburagi T. Kotetsu has returned as a hero and rejoined forces with Barnaby Brooks Jr. A few months after Kotetsu’s comeback, the two of them are working in the Second League, spending their days working on solving the cases and accidents in town and having quarrels as always.

Looking at the members of the First League – Sky High, Blue Rose, Dragon Kid, Fire Emblem, Origami Cyclone, and Rock Bison – who work with Hero TV, Barnaby drops that he wants to return to the First League. Kotetsu, while trying to persuade Barnaby, harbors complicated feelings. On the other side, Apollon Media, which lost its previous owner due to the “Maverick Case,” welcomes Mark Schneider, a charismatic businessman, as its new owner, and is planning its revival. As part of that plan, Schneider convinces Barnaby to return to the First League. However, this time, he won’t be teaming up with Wild Tiger. Instead, his partner will be a new hero scouted by Schneider, Golden Ryan (Ryan Goldsmith).

At the same time, a mysterious case happens in Sternbild. As the shadow of the goddess that has been circulating in the town since ancient times appears, inexplicable incidents keep on happening. However, those are but a prelude to the unprecedented major incident that is about to shake Sternbild...
