From Aug. 1-25, a fair for The Basketball which Kuroko Plays (known in Japan as Kuroko no Basuke) will be held at Animate and ACOS locations throughout Japan. Furthermore, for a two week period from Aug. 1-14, an exclusive shop for The Basketball Which Kuroko Plays will be open in Animate’s main store in Ikebukuro.
The Basketball which Kuroko Plays is a popular work that shows no signs of declining, and the second season of the anime will begin airing this October. These campaigns may increase its popularity even more leading up to the second season’s broadcast.
During the fair at Animate, those who buy or pre-order 1,000 yen worth of related books or goods will receive a postcard as a present. One postcard will also be given out to those who buy a CD, Blu-ray, or DVD. The postcards will come in five varieties: Kuroko Tetsuya, Kagami Taiga, Kise Ryota, Midorima Shintaro, and Aomine Daiki. With their summery feel and character-specific designs, these bonus items will make fans feel like they really received a postcard from Kuroko and the rest. Because the postcards are given out blindly, fans can enjoy opening them to see which character they received.
At the exclusive shop inside Animate’s main store in Ikebukuro, items will be on display in addition to those for sale. At this exclusive shop, postcards with different designs than those offered at the fair will be given out one per transaction for those who spend more than 1,000 yen. This special design features all of the characters together. Distribution of each of the postcards will end once stock runs out.
The Basketball which Kuroko Plays is a basketball manga by Tadatoshi Fujimaki that has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since issue 2 in 2009. The series picked up even more fans when the anime adaptation aired between April and September of 2012. A countless number of goods and items related to the series have also been released, and the series has picked up considerable support from female fans.
