Super Sonico, “Oreimo,” and “K-On!” Ita-Umbrellas to Release

Items with visuals of characters squeezed onto them are picking up attention. These include itasha, ita-T-shirts, and more, and these goods are becoming status symbols for fans to show their passion for their favorite works and characters. Now, making their entry into the ita-goods market is the rain goods maker, Seasonal Plant’s. The company has produced ita-umbrellas based on the anime Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai and K-On! and the character Super Sonico. Advance sales of these umbrellas will occur at Summer Wonder Festival 2013 to be held on July 28 and at Comic Market 84 to be held from Aug.10-12.

The product lineup includes 50-centimeter stick umbrellas, folding umbrellas, and 10-centimeter mini desk umbrellas. Super Sonico will not come in the stick umbrella, but rather two large 75-centimeter parasols have been made. These parasols will be on sale only at the aforementioned events. With these parasols, the company is freely displaying its technical prowess as a racing team parasol sponsor. Using carefully selected material, the characters are printed across the entire surface of each umbrella. The coloring is also vivid, and they are finished off with designs that look attractive from far away.

The official site introduces the manufacturing process, which includes artisans carefully sewing together each umbrella by hand. This allows for viewers to take a peek at their way of work that is backed by knowledge and experience.

These umbrellas can be used in a wide variety of situations, from everyday use to events to cosplay photography. They can even be used as collector’s items for those who are embarrassed to actually use them outdoors due to their designs. The breakdown of the prices are as follows: each parasol is 12,000 yen, the stick and folding umbrellas are each 9,000 yen, the Oreimo mini desk umbrella is 2,000 yen, and the K-On! and Super Sonico mini desk umbrellas are 1,700 yen each. The umbrellas are planned to be sold on the official site as well.
