Namco Bandai Games Announces New “Dragon Ball” Game, Releases First PV

On June 21, Namco Bandai Games announced that production on a new action game based on the manga Dragon Ball has begun. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita. The release date and price are still undetermined. The game will have a single player mode as well as an eight player online mode.

Battle of Z will be a completely new game and the first Dragon Ball related game from the company in two years, with the last being Dragon Ball: Ultimate Blast (PS3/Xbox 360). Categorizing itself in the genre of “team melee action,” up to eight players (4 vs 4) will be able to enjoy battles overflowing with a sense of speed. It also seems the game will pit teams against gigantic enemies like the familiar “Great Ape” that Saiyans can transform into.

Super Saiyan God Son Goku from the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, which released earlier this year on March 30, will also be a playable character in the game. Look forward to seeing in-game visuals of him and his strength.
