Hello Kitty and Space Invaders collaborative products have been announced!
Sanrio designed Hello Kitty in 1974 and began selling products of the kind-hearted female character in 1975. Taio designed, developed, and sold the arcade game Space Invaders that became an unfathomable success throughout the world. This collaboration has been implemented as the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty in 2014 and 35 anniversary of Space Invaders this year draws near.
The products feature Hello Kitty adopting an 8-bit design and Space Invaders adopting a Hello Kitty color scheme. Attire, accessories, stationery, and miscellaneous goods are planned to release this fall in Japan and overseas.
Exclusive products as part of the collaboration will be available as arcade game prizes. Fans can look forward to a square pouch in October and big blanket in November.
Past games to collaborate with Hello Kitty include Sonic, Nameko Saibai Kit, and, most recently, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. We’re looking forward to all the unique, cute, and retro Hello Kitty and Space Invaders collaborative products that will release this fall!
