Chiyomaru Shikura’s First Novel, “Occultic;Nine,” to Release on Overlap Bunko This August

Occultic;Nine, the first novel by Chiyomaru Shikura - original author of the “science adventure” series Chaos;Head Noah, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes - will go on sale from Overlap on Aug. 25.

Occultic;Nine is a paranormal science novel by the tag team Shikuya and illustrator Pako. The official site of the novel is currently open, and, in addition to three characters being revealed, a new visual showing a fourth character has also been released. Keep it here for a follow-up report when more information is announced.

Occultic;Nine follows main character Gamon Yuuta, an extremely ordinary second year high school student who dreams of getting rich quick on an affiliate blog that collects occult material. However, after starting his blog, his fate begins to mix with mysterious characters he didn’t expect to meet.

A moe master fortune teller, a guide to the world after death, an onee-san doujinshi manga artist who sees the future, a black magic agent, and other complete maniacs with odds faces show up in full force. The environment around these characters feels slightly off, and before long, the story develops toward an unimaginable event.
