ClariS’ Second Album Has Been Announced! Collaborative Commercial Campaign Begins!

The girl group ClariS, who are currently in high school, will release their second album Second Story on June 26. Furthermore, characters from popular anime are narrating the TV commercials for the album. Those characters are Kirino and Kuroneko from Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (*Oreimo* for short) and Homura and Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, who each talk about the album’s charm. This TV commercial campaign narrated by a cast of popular voice actresses seems to be picking up great attention. The commercials began broadcasting at the end of last month.

Including the different versions from before and after the release of their single, 10 versions of the commercial have been prepared. Among those are also versions that are narrated by ClariS as well. These commercials in which you can listen to the voices of anime characters and the artists themselves are complete with must-see content for fans. Furthermore, the commercials will be included on the DVD that comes with both limited edition versions of the album. Fans will be able to enjoy five of the commercials from after the announcement of their single on the DVD.

Up until now, ClariS’ songs have been used in several anime. This collaboration as well is something that shows this relationship to anime. Their debut single “Irony” was used as the opening theme to the first season of Oreimo and their seventh single “Reunion” was used as the opening theme to the second season. Likewise, their second single “Connect” was used as the opening theme to Puella Magi Madoka Magica and their sixth single “Luminous” expressed the world of the series as the movie’s theme song. For both anime fans and ClariS fans, this collaboration is a joyous event. Second Story will release as a limited edition for 3,600 yen, a pre-order exclusive limited edition for 4,000 yen, and a regular edition for 3,059 yen (all prices include tax).
