Family Gekijo Broadcasts Lineup of Anime Based on Popular Video Games

Starting earlier this month, CS Channel’s popular station Family Gekijo began airing special anime based on popular video games.

Four works have been assembled for this special broadcasting event. The first work is the animated version of Final Fantasy that opened in theaters in 2001 and gathered a great following by Final Fantasy fans. The next work is Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete that released in 2009. However, this version differs from the 2009 version in that it includes 30 extra minutes and has been reorganized and re-edited. The next work is Animal Forest: The Movie, which is based on Nintendo’s hugely popular franchise Animal Crossing and is noted for great performances from its cast, in particular the popular voice actor Shun Oguri. The final work is an animated version of Capcom’s popular franchise Sengoku Basara. All 13 episodes of this anime are being aired back to back.

The first broadcasts of these works have already been completed on Family Gekijo. However, they will each be rebroadcast several more times this month. For the full schedule, check out Family Gekijo’s site.
