On March 30 on the White Stage at Anime Contents Expo (ACE) 2013, a talk and live stage show was held for the anime Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince, which began airing on April 4.
The crowd became silent as a trailer for the anime began playing and everyone intently watched the screen. After the trailer ended, the emcee for the event, Hisanori Yoshida of Nippon Broadcasting, took the stage and introduced the talkative cast of the anime who all also participated in an event for the anime the day before. The crowd erupted in applause as each cast member was announced.
The cast members participating in the event included Hiroki Aiba (Hatachi Izuru), Yoko Hikasa (Kugimiya Kei), Yuka Iguchi (Irie Tamaki), and Junya Ikeda (Suruga Ataru). The event kicked off with introductions to each character and their respective robots, as well as comments from other cast members that lightened up the mood and had everyone smiling.
Once the character introductions were over, the cast members each shared their thoughts on the anime. At a glance, the story tends to be seen as serious, but it was divulged that the story also contains witty parts and funny scenarios strewn in that will make you laugh. The tempo of the voice stars’ back and forth banter was entertaining, and this same feeling seems to have been brought to the anime.
Moving on to the live part, the opening and ending themes were sung by Natsumi Kon and Chiaki Ishikawa. Even though Natsumi had sung in musicals before, she expressed that it was the first time she had sung by herself and she was nervous. Ishikawa, who worked on the composition for the opening theme, discussed unknown information about the song, saying, “I wanted to help Natsumi bloom as a new artist; it was the first time I provided the music.”
For the finale, all the performers lined up on stage and the event came to a close. With its cast of unique characters, serious and intense battles, and everyday comedy, Majestic Prince is not to be missed!
