The Blu-ray and DVD for the anime movie Macross FB 7: Listen to My Song! will go on sale on April 24. In commemoration of this release, a special event titled “Listen to My Song in Ikebukuro!” was held on March 16 at Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro in Tokyo. In addition to a screening of the movie, the event featured a discussion with director Tomo Sakurai, Nobutoshi Kanna (the voice of Nekki Basara), Tomo Sakurai (the voice of Mylene Jenius), and Akio Suyama (the voice of Gavil).
Macross FB 7 was produced in commemoration of 30 years of Macross. It features reconstructed footage from the TV series Macross 7, which was broadcast from 1994-95, with brand-new footage from the 2008 movie for Macross F. Due to it being a crossover of the two series, it’s being called a “super dimension collaboration work.” Event screenings for the movie began in October 2012.
At the “Listen to My Song in Ikebukuro!” event, the Blu-ray version of the movie was being sold in advance. To match Macross’ theme of music, the event featured more music than usual for fans to enjoy. Furthermore, attendees received a promotional poster as a free gift, and a raffle was held.
