In 2009, the anime K-On! became a huge success due to its great story, memorable characters, and catchy music. Pony Canyon has now released the massive CD box set “K-On! Music History’s Box,” which features every song used in the anime. The 258 songs are compiled onto 12 CDs. This enjoyable collector’s item is selling for 19,800 yen (tax included).
The title “K-On!” is a shortened version of keiongakubu, which means “light music club” in Japanese. With that as the theme, there were many scenes with the main character Yui and her friends performing live! Due to the show’s amount of songs, it’s difficult to know them all. However, with this box set, your K-On! music collection can be complete! First editions also include the vocals sound source (23 tracks) for the PSP game K-On! After School Live.
In commemoration of the release of this box set, the talk event “K-On! History’s Talk” will take place on June 6 at the Tokyo International Forum. All five voice stars of the main characters attend, including Aki Toyosaki, Yoko Hikasa, Satomi Sato, Minako Kotobuki, and Ayana Taketatsu. Tickets include a T-shirt and cost 4,500 yen each. The box set includes an application for purchasing advance tickets.
