“I Have Few Friends” Museum in Akihabara Gamers Welcomes Those Who Have Friends and Those Who Don’t!

For those of you who regularly read TokyoOtakuMode's news page, you have a lot of friends, right? If I was forced to say one way or the other, I would have to say that I have few friends. That being the case, I went to check out the museum for I Have Few Friends NEXT (known in Japan as Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT or as Haganai for short), which is open now until March 10 at Akihabara Gamers.

As soon as I entered, I was greeted by this sight of Hasegawa Kobato’s GothLoli outfit, Kusunoki Yukimura’s maid outfit, and the school uniform of St. Chronica's Academy. Each cosplay outfit was exquisitely made, and I have a feeling that they will be all the rage among cosplayers at this year’s Comic Market.

After strolling around the museum, I finally found its main attraction: a re-creation of the clubroom used for the Neighbor’s Club! Inside the clubroom, I was greeted by a panel of club members on display, including Kashiwazaki Sena, Mikazuki Yozora, and Takayama Maria. A TV was also set up in the classroom, on which Nozomi Yamamoto, the voice actress for Kusunoki Yukimura, was conveying messages to all her friends who visited the museum.

The museum was selling CDs, light novels, and of course the manga, as well as Haganai goods that you can’t find anywhere else, including Sena bed sheets and towels. It was enough to make any Haganai fan drool. Suffice it to say, by the time I left, my wallet felt much lighter than when I entered.

The museum featured all kinds of Haganai items on display, including original illustrations, background pictures, and episode scripts, as well as Haganai goods from many different companies that included figures, oppai mousepads, and more. There was so much content that attendees were able to fully enjoy the world of Haganai! The coveted figure set of Sena and Kobato in bikinis was even on display. The museum had many items on display that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else, and it was hard for fans to contain their excitement.

Helping to excite fans even more were the opening and ending themes that were playing in the background. Fans not only had fun looking at everything, but also hearing the anime’s music. The museum was a wonderful experience for fans.

By the way, there was a recurring theme that I couldn’t help but notice at the museum. It seemed like everyone who went to the museum brought their friends along with them! There was a girl who looked like a model with three friends and a college student with four friends; it seemed everyone had friends except lonely old me. I guess the I Have Few Friends museum wasn’t just for those who actually have few friends.

At any rate, for those like me who have few friends, as well as those who have many, if you are a fan of Haganai, make sure to visit this museum!
