Choi, A fortune teller from Dera’s homeland, begins staying at Tamako’s house.
Upon seeing the slovenly fat Dera, Choi is filled with indignation and asks him to explain himself. Not being able to say that he ate too much mochi, Dera tells a half-hearted lie without thinking.

Choi is a girl from the southern country who serves at the royal palace as a fortune teller. She is Dera’s master and he becomes very obedient in her presence.
Dera is also condemned by Choi for is weight gain, which hinders his usefulness in her fortune telling. Dera tells a lie to Choi, blaming Tamako and her friends for his weight gain. Due to this, Choi becomes wary of Takamo and everyone in the shopping district.
Even though she finds it troublesome, everyone in the shopping district takes a liking to Choi, and she slowly starts warming up to them. She performs her fortune telling for them, and soon after, her fortunes start coming true. The first one being that the tofu shop owner’s love would wither before it blooms. Even though his unrequited love is painful, he wishes from the bottom of his heart that the person he loves would find happiness, which makes him smile radiantly.
In the end, Dera’s lie is exposed, the misunderstanding is cleared up, and Choi is welcomed as the newest member of the Usagiyama Shopping District. In the final scene, Choi notices a particular scent coming off of Tamako. What on Earth did she sense? Find out next time!
