Sugita Tomokazu, Voice of Gintoki from “Gintama,” Narrates Commercials for “Sakura Mitsu Tsuki”

On March 13, the rock band SPYAIR released their latest single, “Sakura Mitsu Tsuki.” Anime fans may be familiar with the song because it was originally used as the opening theme for the TV anime series Gintama.

Prior to the single being released on CD, the song was distributed on the internet, and on Jan. 11, it took first place on the Recochoku Overall Daily Chart. The song went on to rank at number one on both the Recochoku Rock Chart and Anime Chart for two consecutive weeks.

Sugita Tomokazu, the voice actor for Gintoki, the main character of Gintama, narrated the TV commercials for “Sakura Mitsu Tsuki.” Three versions of the commercial were filmed, and they began airing on Feb. 7 during a broadcast of Gintama. Each week thereafter, a different version was broadcast.
