The Japanese band Fujifabric’s song “Small World” has been chosen as the new theme song for the TV anime Space Brothers, which began broadcasting in April 2012. Space Brothers is not only a popular anime, but also a manga with over 100 million copies in print as well as a live-action film.
“Small World” features an upbeat tempo with the message “don’t abandon your dreams”, which represents the story of Space Brothers. The fresh tune fits the anime well. This is the second time that a Fujifabric song has been used in an anime. Previously, they performed the opening theme “ Tsurezure Monochrome” for Tsuritama, which was broadcast on Fuji Television's programming block, noitaminA. Fujifabric’s natural tact for performing as well as the success of “Tsurezure Monochrome” helped create high hopes for “Small World”.
The single will be released on Feb. 6, 2013. Fans may choose from the limited edition CD/DVD combo (1,575 yen), limited press edition CD (1,260 yen), or regular edition CD (1,050 yen). The limited press edition CD will come with a Space Brothers limited illustrated Digipak. Whether you’re a fan of the series or the band, why not treat yourself!
