Many Japanese events, such as Tokyo Game Show, are popular worldwide. Now, a new event is emerging that is poised to become the rival to TGS. This event, called Japan Amusement Expo 2013 (50th Amusement Machine Show x 32nd AOU Amusement Expo), was recently held for the first time, and it’s already making headlines.
Japan Amusement Expo 2013 is an integration of two well known events: the Amusement Machine Show, which is sponsored by the Japan Amusement Machine and Marketing Association, and the AOU Amusement Expo, which is sponsored by the All Nippon Amusement Machine Operator's Union.
The event was held on Feb. 15 and 16 at the Makuhari Messe convention center. The catchphrase of the event was “We Love Game Centers!! Open the Door to the Future of Games”. The event featured a comprehensive look at Japan’s biggest amusement and entertainment businesses. This, of course, included displays of a great number of well-known games. For 1,000 yen per ticket, fans were able to play with the many machines, tools, and games on display at the event to their heart’s content.
