Yearly Rankings for the Digital Bookstore “BookLive!”

Presently, the popularity of digital comics and books continues to spread. However, there are probably many people who wonder what kind of works are distributed using this new medium. Well, wonder no more! The 2012 yearly rankings for the digital bookstore BookLive! have been announced. Let’s take a look at which works ranked the highest.

First, let’s look at digital comics. In first place is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Even though this work has always been hugely popular, we wonder if the work being popular online as well as the expansion of the age range of its fans were the primary reasons why it ranked number one. In the number two spot was the highest selling comic in Japan, One Piece. Fellow Shonen Jump work Naruto nabbed the number four spot. Continuing down the list was the masterpiece of the past Rurouni Kenshin at number five, Fullmetal Alchemist at number seven, and Dragon Ball at number ten.

On the light novel side, Aku no Kyoten, a popular work that was made into a movie, came in at number two, and Nobo no Shiro, another work that has a movie adaptation, came in at number three. Holding both of these titles down and grabbing the top spot was Campione!, which also has a popular manga and TV anime series. Rounding out the rest of the list was The Ambition of Nobuna Oda at number five, and Onii-chan dakedo Ai sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne! at number seven. How many of these works have you read?
