Among the standout Itasha decorated with popular characters such as Hatsune Miku, there was another form of Itasha that gained remarkable attention. On second thought, they weren’t Itasha, but rather “Itajitensha”. Or in other words, Ita-bicycles.
At the event, an Itajitensha that stood out in particular was of Takamachi Nanoha and Fate Testarossa from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Artwork of the characters was boldly displayed on the bike’s wheels.
At the event, we talked with the owner of this unique Itajitensha:
This Itajitensha is my second one. The first one I made was an Evangelion Itajitensha. Basically, I create Itajitensha based on my favorite characters. Every time there is an Itasha event, I participate in it. My Itajitensha have even won awards before. I have always liked bicycles, so when I learned that Itajitensha existed, I wanted to try and make one. Since they don’t even cost 20,000 yen to build, they are very economical.
Economical indeed; he even rode his Itajitensha to the venue.
