I've come to realize this about art books published under PIE International, they're all very soft and flexible books. This can be good or bad depending on your preference, but I'm always afraid of humidity warping these types of book. It doesn't affect the art inside though, and the art in this book is gorgeous. There are many two page spreads of highly detailed scenery. Despite the soft quality of this book, it cannot be laid flat, so some details where the page meets the spine will still be obscured.
