Far better than a "diamond in the rough"

Akua-chan is a true-to-scale 1/7, fair-skinned, and realistically proportioned original character. The color gradient in her jacket and sculpt of her toes are especially remarkable aspects. Her swimsuit is painted in a sparkly bluish-whitish mix, while her skin is ever so slightly shaded pink in areas such as the crevasse behind the knees, her cleavage, and around her toes. There are no pieces to assemble, and she's designed to freely kneel atop a clear blue plastic base without pins, so she makes for a great figure in terms of display options. I bought her because she was absolutely as cute as can be without being outright suggestive, though B'full spared no expensive in giving t...Read moreClose

A prime example of Koto's craftsmanship

Let me preface by saying that many board members of MFC don't think Kotobukiya's attention to detail and consistency are at all noteworthy. That may have been true at some point, but Koto's 1/7 scale Zero Two is a gem amongst the rest of their catalogue.

Some aspects worth mentioning include the translucency in the tips of her hair, the impressive gloss coating on her piloting suit, and the large scale. While the skin color isn't exactly the shade I would have liked, it was at least well represented by their promotional photos.

Altogether, for the price, Kotobukiya produced a wonderful rendition of Zero Two that is both feminine and fierce. I'm gl...

I wasn't crying when I ordered this...

But I am crying now. I'd say that the entire soundtrack is a cohesive masterpiece, and that it is so good that it reminds me of the show. But the truth is that this music is good on its own already. The fact that Violet Evergarden was such a fantastic show is what is making me cry. I would have paid a $100 for this soundtrack, that's how happy I am. Thanks, TOM, for offering this on your site.

Excellent initial figure from new company Licorne

I purchased this figure with the expectation that it would be similar to that of Alter or Good Smile Company. Put simply, I was not disappointed. The hair is beautifully sculpted to appear as though the wind has caught it, Lily's exposed upper back closely resembles that of a young woman, and the outfit (dress, gloves, and undergarments) has a rather pleasant appearance to it. While normally I would go on to compliment the sword as being the most impressive aspect of the figure (which is would have been, both in sculpture and in paint), this time I'm happy to report that overall the painting of this figure elevates the somewhat simple pose to that of GSC or Alter quality. I was hig...Read moreClose

A figure of a character with less screen time than Rem from Re:Zero

I spent well over a hundred dollars on her, but what arrived was well beyond the paintwork I had seen before. I was amazed to find her dress was actually a deep blue with lots of black shading throughout (who puts in this level of work for a figure of a side character? Sugoi!). And actually, the paint couldn't have been as incredible as it is without the sculpt having been as intricate as it is. From the ruffles of Marika's Flamenco dress to her finger nails, nothing is left to the imagination. I'm downright impressed. This is my prettiest figure so far.

My first wall scroll and I'm so happy with it

TOM restocked this wall scroll and I decided to splurge because I loved Kaori as a character. I was totally aware of the size upon purchasing, but... wow! As a 5' 6" tall person, this thing is very lifelike. The printing on the scroll isn't amazingly crisp, but nevertheless it is quite convincing from a couple feet back. Due to the nature of the weave for this fabric, there is a slight amount of translucency. So, be mindful of the color of the wall or door where you'll be hanging this.

Simply flawless

I eagerly awaited this figure's arrival and upon unboxing it, I was amazed at the details. The dress is frankly on par with what you'd expect at this price point and from this manufacturer, but the violin/bow and Kaori's hair are wonderfully done. The paint job, by the way, is perfect; there isn't a single error ANYWHERE. I especially love that their violin's strings were made with actual metal and that the wood grain is present and clearly visible. After seeing this one, I now hope to collect all the figures of her!
